A registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Altus Hospice Foundation was formed to provide education, support and information for patients and caregivers seeking end-of-life services and support, as well as to aid indigent patients that cannot afford the services of hospice care. The inspiration for the Foundation came from the owners of the Altus Healthcare and Hospice, Inc. (AHHI), who observed that many persons needing hospice care are unable to pay for such care.
When a person is not able to continue or even start hospice care because they do not have insurance, Medicare/Medicaid has run out or because they otherwise do not qualify, and have no other means to pay for hospice services, Altus Healthcare and Hospice Foundation, Inc., provides volunteer services such as: skilled nurses, rehabilitation therapy, medical social workers, medical directors, hospice care, home health aides, volunteers, chaplains and bereavement programs.
